Description of the Show
The Mozart Requiem is a contemporary dance piece for 12 dancers premiered in 2019 in coproduction with the Terrassa Cultural Factory. The concepts of the Requiem texts, written in 1790, continue to be very current.
The choreography of this show starts from religious and spiritual dances from different cultures and styles brought to a contemporary code. It is inspired by:
- Astronomical dances created by the Egyptians and imitated by the Greeks
- African dances, which represent the earth and the sky
- Buddhist dances, which are interior dances with little movement
- Indigenous dances, which transport people who are dying to another life
- Arab dances, which turn around the world and opt for a stable movement
