Open rehearsal of the bands from the XIXÓN FEM MUSIC project

The Xixón Fem Music (XFM) project is an initiative aimed at raising awareness of gender inequality in the local music scene. Currently, the project is developing the second edition of its band incubator, a commitment to training new groups composed exclusively of women and mentored by professional musicians.

In this open rehearsal, the bands from the current incubator, along with some bands from the first edition, will showcase the work done during their training.

Project mentors

• Mar Álvarez: Musician and teacher with an extensive career since the Xixón Sound.
• Sil Fernández: Guitarist, bassist, and teacher, recognized with AMAS awards.
• Cris Montull: Classical and jazz pianist, founder of the Escuela de Música Moderna y Jazz Meidinerz.
