It’s Almost Midnight in Most of Gema Fernández Martínez’s Body
It’s almost midnight in most of Gema Fernández Martínez’s body is a project by Gema and Sil Fernández. With this title, the sisters offer a performance that allows them to bring Gema’s poems to the stage from a particular perspective, deliberately breaking with preconceived ideas of what a poetic musical show should be. The texts are interpreted by Gema, fired, projected, shaken directly to the audience’s ears and eyes while Sil, with a guitar in hand, unwinds songs perfectly integrated into the atmosphere of each poem. In this way, literature and music cease to be independent and merge into a single message, an active dialogue with the spectator who has accepted to immerse themselves in this psychogeographic journey through the senses.
