About this venue

The Centro de Arte Rupestre de Tito Bustillo, in Ribadesella, is the outreach space for the Tito Bustillo cave, discovered in 1968 and added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2008. It opened in March 2011 and was created because most of the cave’s art ensembles are hard to access and its environmental balance needs to be preserved.

Its permanent exhibition offers a setting in which to contemplate such emblematic spots as the Camarín de las Vulvas, the Galería de los Caballos, the Antropomorfo or the Panel de los Policromos, and explains when the cave was discovered, its geological value and who lived in it. The centre also offers educational, playful workshops; visiting the original cave requires a separate ticket.
