Casa de Piedra is a building in Colombres, built with indiano money, that houses the Municipal Cultural Centre (Casa Municipal de Cultura) of the Ribadedeva town council. It follows the mountain regionalist architecture advocated by the Cantabrian architect Leonardo Rucabado, rises over three floors with extra height in its corner towers, one square and one round, and is listed in the Inventory of Architectural Heritage of Asturias.
Inside are the children’s and adult libraries, the newspaper library, a study room, a multipurpose hall for events, exhibition rooms and the municipal historical archive. Its programme includes temporary exhibitions, training courses, reading-promotion activities, lectures, film series, concerts and theatre.
