The Centro de Interpretación del Parque Natural de Somiedo is the park’s visitor reception centre and is located in Pola de Somiedo, the capital of the municipality and the geographical centre of the protected area. Its audiovisual exhibition, with numerous interactive elements, covers the territory’s main features: fauna, vegetation, relief, geology and ethnographic heritage.

A dedicated space is devoted to the study of, and information about, the Cantabrian brown bear, Somiedo’s great jewel. Visitors can also find out there about the hiking routes that are open, the park’s regulations and other nearby exhibitions, such as the Ethnographic Museum of Pola de Somiedo or the house-museums of Veigas.
