26th National Quick Painting Contest of Villanueva de Oscos

Villanueva de Oscos celebrates the 26th edition of its National Quick Painting Contest, under the theme “Landscapes, villages, corners, and customs of Villanueva de Oscos”. All techniques and aesthetic currents are accepted.

The canvases (minimum 35 x 38 cm, without decorations or base color) are stamped at the Ayuntamiento from 9:00 to 10:30 and participants can start painting from that moment. At 17:00 the works are handed in at the iglesia de Villanueva for evaluation by the jury and at 18:30 the winners are announced, followed by a Spanish wine reception for the participants.

There are prizes of 1,000, 500, and 300 euros, two runner-up prizes of 275 euros, a prize for the best local painter, and youth (14-18 years old), children’s (10-13), and junior (under 10, for whom the organization provides the canvas) categories.
