Samartín d’Oscos will host RuralMUN Oscos-Eo from December 11 to 13, 2026, a pioneering initiative that will bring together young people between the ages of fourteen and seventeen to debate global challenges and propose solutions for the future of the region.
This is a youth diplomacy and debate gathering, an initiative that will bring the Model United Nations methodology to a rural setting for the first time. The Palacio de Mon, that recently partially restored jewel of Asturian Baroque architecture, will host this experience, which will be open to a maximum of twenty-five participants.
The project is driven by CEDER Oscos-Eo and is aimed at students between 14 and 17 years old from any background, although preference will be given to young people from the region. During the event, participants will represent different countries and take part in debate, negotiation, and resolution-drafting simulations following United Nations procedures.
