El Teatro del Norte celebrates its 40th anniversary by revisiting one of its most emblematic productions, originally created in 1987. If that first version explored youth and family relationships from the perspective of those just beginning, this new show shifts the focus toward old age, offering a profound reflection on the passage of time, fear, loneliness, and the memory accumulated over four decades of theatrical career.
The proposal takes as its starting point the short play Quimera, belonging to the surrealist period of Federico García Lorca. On stage, texts by universal authors such as Chekhov, Shakespeare, Hölderlin, Kafka, and Etelvino Vázquez himself intertwine, accompanied by a soundtrack that combines the original music composed by Michael Cohen in 1987 with new contributions by Alberto Rionda and classical pieces.
