The Art Routes surrounding the exhibition Naturalezas Vivas offer a guided tour by Patricia Pérez, focusing on the evolution of landscape as an artistic genre and the different ways in which human beings have represented, interpreted, and transformed nature throughout the history of art.
Through a selection of works spanning different historical periods and artistic languages, with artists as diverse as Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró, Cristina García Rodero, Sorolla or Ellen Kooi, the visit will address how the landscape went from being a secondary element to becoming a genre in its own right. The tour will allow for reflection on how our view of nature has changed over time, from idealized representations to contemporary concerns about sustainability and the climate crisis.
