Rescuing the Concetsones Archives of Tineo | Asturian dance training day

About the event

If you are passionate about traditional Asturian culture, this is a unique opportunity to connect with our roots. I invite you to participate in this training day dedicated to rescuing the valuable legacy of the group “Los Concetsones” and their documentation work in Tinéu and Valdés. 🎶

The event will take place on May 16, 2026 at the Muséu del Pueblu d’Asturies. It is a free activity, although it has a limit of 30 spots, so I recommend securing your place as soon as possible through the registration website.

Details of the day

This activity is designed specifically for an adult audience with prior knowledge of Asturian dance. The program is divided into two blocks to delve into this heritage:

  • Morning (from 11:00 to 14:00): Presentation of music-dance testimonies, where you will be able to see and hear a selection of videos and audio recordings with the original melodies and tambourine rhythms.
  • Afternoon (from 15:30 to 18:00): Practical session focused on teaching the documented dances, just as the group performs them. 💃

It is a fantastic occasion to learn firsthand how these traditions were rescued and preserved during the eighties. I hope you enjoy this learning experience very much!
