Sandro Gegechkori Recital

The pianist Sandro Gegechkori will offer a recital as part of the Festival Internacional de Piano de Gijón program, at the Patio del Centro Cultural Antiguo Instituto, with free admission. Recognized for his brilliant international career, his powerful artistic personality, and his interpretive depth, Gegechkori will present a solo piano program that explores the expressive force, drama, and virtuosity of the great 20th-century piano repertoire.

Under the title “1908 D – A 1940”, the recital proposes a journey through two fundamental works of the Russian repertoire: the Piano Sonata No. 1, Op. 28 by Sergei Rachmaninoff and the Piano Sonata No. 6, Op. 82 by Sergei Prokofiev. Two essential composers who, from very different languages, reflect the emotional intensity, innovation, and sonic richness of an era marked by profound musical and cultural changes.
