About the exhibition
The Nicanor Piñole Museum hosts a temporary exhibition dedicated to Alejandro Sirio, one of the great benchmarks of 20th-century Hispano-Argentine illustration.
The exhibition proposes a transversal look at the work of the artist from Oviedo, highlighting his versatility and the constant presence of his unmistakable style, that “calligraphy of drawing” that he considered essential for every illustrator.
Exhibition content
Through twenty-two illustrations belonging to the museum’s collection, copies from its bibliographic holdings, and a careful selection of documents, photographs, sketches, and graphic works from his personal archive, the public will be able to discover the richness and personality of his artistic language.
The exhibition highlights his ability to adapt to different genres, fusing Argentine and European influences into a unique, elegant, and easily recognizable language. It is a unique opportunity to delve into the creative universe of a multifaceted artist who made every stroke a personal signature.
