About the event

Activity description

We will begin by getting to know the Cueva y Capilla de San Pedrín, walking from Castañeda on a short, low-difficulty route (2 km, round trip). Regarding this cave, which was inhabited as far back as the Paleolithic era, there are legends of xanas who enchanted shepherds. A well-known festival is held here, featuring a procession in which the Saint is taken out of the chapel to be brought to a natural cave, where mass is officiated in Asturian.

We will also visit Santa María de Narzana, a Romanesque church from the late 12th century, and after lunch, the church of Santiago de Sariego, which preserves three windows in the upper part of its walls from the pre-Romanesque period.
