About the event

Do you feel like discovering the best-kept secrets of our local history? I invite you to enjoy a fascinating tour of the Parque Arqueológico-Natural de la Campa Torres, a perfect opportunity to connect with our past in a privileged setting. 🏛️

This activity, organized by the Fundación Municipal de Cultura, Educación y Universidad Popular de Gijón, is part of the celebration of International Museum Day. It is an ideal plan for those looking to learn about the castro world and the Romanization of the territory in an enjoyable and direct way.

Practical information

The visit is a free activity, but keep in mind that capacity is limited to 25 spots, so I recommend booking in advance. You can secure your place through the registration website.

You can choose between two dates:

  • May 16, 2026 at 12:00
  • May 17, 2026 at 12:00

What will we do during the visit? 🔍

During the 60 minutes that the tour lasts, we will explore the different sectors of the site. We will focus especially on the latest archaeological interventions and the future plans of the Proyecto Campa.

The goal of these excavations is twofold: on one hand, to prepare the ground so that the archaeological ruins are more accessible and enjoyable for the public; on the other, to update what we know about this place. Thanks to the advances in research over the last two decades, we will be able to better understand how the Campa Torres fits into the regional historical context and resolve archaeological questions that dated back to the 90s. It is an essential appointment for culture lovers! ✨
