About this venue
La Campa Torres is an archaeological and natural park on Cabo Torres, in the western district of Gijón, covering about 50,000 square metres. It preserves the remains of a fortified coastal settlement, linked to the ancient Noega, occupied from the 5th century BC to the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, and is regarded as the largest fortified maritime enclosure on the whole Asturian coast.
The highest sector holds the defences: a moat opened in the rock, the counter-moat and a wall. Further down are stone houses, three water wells and bronze-smelting furnaces. The complex is organised around a reception building, the site itself and a museum housed in a former Civil War bunker.
