About the exhibition
The exhibition presents a sensory experience centered on the culture of fermentation that invites the visitor to smell, touch, or listen to the elements present in the room.
Content
The floor sculptures display the soundscapes collected by the artists: the vibration of pressing apples for cider, the decomposition of matter recorded with hydrophones, or narratives from people dedicated to fermentation in Asturias, whether as daily work, a festive ritual, or a scientific experiment.
In the space, aromas shift and settle, activating memories and bodily knowledge. The suspended silicone membranes—molded over the concrete floor of LABoral—evoke the scoby, a living organism that ferments, binds, and transforms.
