This multidisciplinary project by Irene Trapote explores the craft of the redeiras of the Costa da Morte and the rederas of the Asturian coast. The exhibition highlights the interdependence between the work of these women, fishing, the landscape, and local identity, reclaiming their historical labor in the face of the precariousness of artisanal trades in the current socioeconomic system.
The exhibition makes visible a collective historically relegated to the domestic sphere, whose work is essential for fishing activity and maritime culture.
