“Giant”, a play by Mark Rosenblatt translated by José María Pou and directed by Josep Maria Mestres, arrives at the Sala Pereda of the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria. It is a co-production by Teatre Romea and Grec 2025 Festival de Barcelona.
Summer 1983. English writer Roald Dahl is reviewing the proofs of his latest book before it goes to press. The scandal sparked by an antisemitic article he recently published has placed him in the eye of the storm. At his country house, accompanied by people from his inner circle and the publishing world, he will have to choose between apologizing publicly or standing firm, putting his fame and reputation at risk. Inspired by real events, the play offers a multifaceted portrait of the artist and explores, with humor, the difference between a reasoned opinion and the most dangerous rhetoric.
