About the event

Baroque Music in the Baroque

The theorbos and archlutes were two instruments that reached their peak in the Baroque period. From 1750, their trail suddenly fades away until they completely disappear. This program includes, for the first time and as a premiere in modern times, music by Antonino Reggio, a Sicilian priest born in 1725 and died in Rome in 1780. As context, some of the sonatas by the Bolognese Filippo Dalla Casa are included. Both laudists are currently the authors of the two last known sources of music for archlute.

Directed to: adult audience
