New of Llanes hosts the fiesta of the Holy Christ of Amparo , whose Big Day begins in the early hours of the morning with masses every hour.

• At 12:00 h, processions run through the town in search of the music band that will accompany the procession, which awaits outside. After the main mass, the procession begins, and at its end, the Christ dance is performed in the festival’s praú. In the afternoon, a new dance runs through the neighborhood: The Dance of the Married. Subsequently, new processions and dances give way to the party, which ends with the typical garlic soups.

• In the eve, processions accompanied by a bagpipe band run through the town of New in Llanes with a tree of about 35 m. of height that is planted next to the chapel of the Holy. This is an ancestral rite associated with fertility and is unique to the festivals of eastern Asturias.

• Once planted, traditional dances begin in the festival’s praú that will give way to the party.
