Turnip Festival. San Martín del Rey Aurelio

The town of Sotrondio celebrates the traditional Turnip Festival, an event declared to be of tourist interest in the Principality of Asturias.

Restaurants and cider houses in Sotrondio and surroundings will offer a traditional menu consisting of:

• Turnip stew: a classic of local cuisine dating back to the 70s, made with local turnips cooked over a low heat and accompanied by top-quality compango (chorizo, blood sausage, bacon, and pork).
• Tripe.
• Casadielles for dessert.

The culinary days are accompanied by a festive program organized by the Sociedad Cultural y de Festejos San Martín de Tours, with the collaboration of the City Council.
