Wednesday, September 9, 2026, 04:00 PM-08:00 PM
About the event

The Centro Niemeyer presents the exhibition ‘Water’, a showcase by the renowned Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky that explores the complex relationship between human beings and this essential resource. Through large-format images and extraordinary chromatic richness, the artist documents landscapes from five continents where water is the protagonist of stories of transformation, tension, and fragility.

The exhibition, curated by Enrica Viganò, invites critical reflection on the impact of human activity on the environment, from hydraulic infrastructure and industrial operations to deltas and areas affected by drought. Burtynsky uses advanced technologies, including aerial shots, to capture the scale of these environments, revealing places where the natural balance has been altered.
