The Centro Niemeyer presents the exhibition ‘Water’, a showcase by the renowned Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky that explores the complex relationship between human beings and this essential resource through large-format images and extraordinary chromatic richness. Curated by Enrica Viganò, the exhibition documents landscapes from five continents where water is the protagonist of stories of transformation, tension, and fragility, using advanced technologies and aerial shots to capture everything from hydraulic infrastructure and industrial operations to deltas, glaciers, and areas affected by drought.

About the work 📸

The exhibition combines aesthetics and critical reflection to document places where the natural balance has been broken, including references to ecological disasters and intensive agricultural practices. The work of Edward Burtynsky reveals the scale of these environments, inviting the viewer to question the impact of human activity on the environment.
