The Centro Niemeyer presents the exhibition ‘Water’, a showcase by the renowned Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky that explores the complex relationship between human beings and this essential resource. Curated by Enrica Viganò, the exhibition brings together a selection of striking large-format images that document landscapes and settings across five continents where water is the protagonist of stories of transformation, tension, and fragility.

With a style that combines aesthetics and critical reflection, Burtynsky uses advanced technologies and aerial shots to capture everything from hydraulic infrastructure and industrial operations to deltas and glaciers. The exhibition invites reflection on the human impact on the environment, documenting places where the natural balance has been broken, including references to ecological disasters and intensive agricultural practices.
