Matilde Suárez (Ortigueira, 1957) studied Business Expert and worked mainly at the Xarrio Comarcal Hospital. She has been writing since childhood and started publishing after participating in a literary workshop with Tino Pertierra, collaborating in the collective books Obsessions and Stories and Reencounters (Editorial Laria). She is also the author of the self-published poetry book Flying Free.
In 2024, she won the Ría del Eo Poetry Prize, convened by the municipality of Vegadeo/A Veiga, with the work Naquel tempo… and neste , a tribute to the struggle of women from previous generations.
