Miguel Rodríguez Monteavaro received the Xuan María Acebal Poetry Prize in Asturian in 2024 with the work Al disparar nunca parte.
Miguel Rodríguez Monteavaro (Bual, 1990) writes in Galician from Asturias and in Asturian. He has published six books of poetry: Todos os tristes de mayo (2013), Poemas pr’amantes y paquidermos (2013), Trenta razóis pra nun medrar (2020), Superpoderes (2020), Oi, que dice mamá que volvas (2023) and A lluz, Orión e a nova lluz (2024). Additionally, Monteavaro was the winner of several literary awards, including the XIX Xeira Short Story Prize, the XIX Padre Galo Poetry Prize, the Asturias Young Poetry Prize, or the I Ría del Eo Poetry Prize. On the other hand, in 2021 he achieved the Asturies Residency in A Coruña, and in 2023 the Performing Arts Residency of LABoral Center for Art and Industrial Creation.
