Art Detectives: Google Maps and the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias

About the event

Session of the Art Detectives program of the Museo de Bellas Artes de Asturias that connects the works in the collection with the places in Asturias that appear in them or inspired them.

Many works in the museum can be located directly on the map of Asturias. Equipped with maps, the Art Detectives will identify paintings along with the landscapes and places that inspired them. In the workshop portion, each participant will add their favorite places in Asturias to the map by drawing them.

Art Detectives is an inclusive museum workshop for families with children aged 4 to 12, specially designed for minors with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). In each session, participants become detectives who search for artists, works, colors, and shapes in the galleries through a dynamic and adapted game, concluding with a hands-on activity in the museum workshop. The 2026 series has included sessions dedicated to Dalí, the bagpipes and drum, the Oviedo Cathedral, mining, and the portrait of Charles II by Carreño Miranda.
