The work of Carmen Calvo (Valencia, 1950) offers a critical and lucid look at a society constrained by rigid moral rules. Her committed nature does not hide an extraordinary sensitivity that is deeply empathetic toward those who suffer, placing women and childhood at the center of her artistic universe.
This exhibition, produced by La Fábrica and curated by Ana Berruguete, focuses on the experimental nature and the multiplicity of registers of the artist, who moves through surrealism, Dadaism, arte povera, and conceptual art. Through masks, old photographs, clay objects, and installations, the exhibition seeks to be a vital expression of resistance and dialogue with the space.
