The Soulers
The Soulers is an Asturian band formed by six musicians with extensive experience in the music scene. Their album From side to side, featuring a total of nine songs, is the beginning of a journey with multiple stops through the different eras and styles of North American popular music, with a final destination in the present day.
There is no shortage of nods, both musical and aesthetic, to the jazz, swing, and rock & roll of the 50s (with a certain doowop touch in the backing vocals), and it delves into the R&B, soul, and funk of the 60s and 70s (Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Tina Turner…), with a clear tendency to renew these genres in the vein of artists like Amy Winehouse or Imelda May.
From side to side was recorded at Circo Perrotti studios with Jorge Explosión as producer, who achieved the vintage sound that perfectly defines the style of this first recording by the band.
