About the event

A look at the most essential resource 💧

The Centro Niemeyer hosts the exhibition Water, by the renowned Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky, one of the great references of contemporary photography at an international level. The exhibition, curated by Enrica Viganò, brings together a selection of striking images that explore the complex relationship between human beings and water.

About the work

With his unmistakable style—characterized by large formats, an extraordinary chromatic richness, and a gaze that combines aesthetics and critical reflection—Burtynsky travels across five continents to document landscapes where water is the protagonist of stories of transformation, tension, and fragility. From vast hydraulic infrastructures to industrial operations, passing through deltas, glaciers, and areas affected by drought, the photographer places us in front of realities at the limit, coated with a powerful visual charm.
