Parque de Somao is the green space of Somao, a rural parish in the municipality of Pravia located at the northern end of the municipality. The village stands on a hill at about 213 metres above sea level, with views over the sea, the coastal plain and the mouth of the Nalón river.

The park is part of Somao’s indiano legacy: emigrants who returned from the Americas paid for the community’s water supply, roads and fountains, as well as the schools, a charitable school cinema, the church and the park itself. In 2020 the village received the Asturias Exemplary Village Award for preserving that indiano and rural heritage.
