Ecomuseo del Pan, Santa Eufemia

The Ecomuseo del Pan, in Santa Eufemia (Villanueva de Oscos), follows the complete cycle of bread: from sowing and gathering the grain to milling, kneading and baking. The museum offers guided tours.

The exhibition is divided into three rooms, each devoted to one stage of the process: “From the land to the threshing floor” (sowing and reaping), “From the threshing floor to the hórreo” (threshing and grain storage) and “From the hórreo to the table” (milling, preparation and consumption). Alongside panels and objects, the visit includes an hórreo granary with the chests where grain was kept, a threshing machine, a plot where cereal is grown and a mill. Santa Eufemia is a hamlet in the parish of Villanueva, at an altitude of 620 metres and just over a kilometre from the municipal capital.
