Trevías is a rural parish in the municipality of Valdés, about 17 kilometres from Luarca, the municipal capital. The River Esva runs through the village and shapes its geography, and the local economy rests mainly on cattle farming. The village of Trevías today concentrates the parish’s shops and services.
Its festive calendar is headed by San Isidro Labrador (15 May), the Descenso folklórico del Esva (second Sunday of August), San Miguel Arcángel (28 and 29 September) and Santa Lucía (13 December). The parish church is dedicated to San Miguel Arcángel, and its porch holds an inscribed stone recording when the earlier church was completed.
