About this venue
Busto (Bustu in Asturian) is a coastal village in the municipality of Valdés, in western Asturias, and belongs to the parish of Canero. It looks out over the Cantabrian Sea next to Cabo Busto, regarded as one of the most notable features of the Asturian coast after Cabo Peñas: a broad flat platform whose north-facing front runs for about 800 metres.
On that coastal terrace the Cabo Busto lighthouse has stood since 1858, and in the village itself is the chapel of San Bartolomé, rebuilt in 1950 through the efforts of Francisco Peláez Fernández, who wished to honour his parents.
