Libros del Norte is a rural second-hand bookshop that works from Soto de Ribera, in the municipality of Ribera de Arriba, and sells mainly through its online store. It was founded by César Maceda, a historian and archaeologist originally from León, and Gijón-born Andrea Sierra, who moved to the village to develop a bookselling project tied to rural life; the business got going in 2019.
Its stock, which in 2023 stood at around 6,000 used titles, comes mostly from private donations and ranges from classics and novels to comics, poetry and children’s and young adult literature, with a section devoted to rare and antique books. The booksellers ship orders worldwide, offer hand delivery within Asturias and attend markets around the region to spread the word about the project.
