Tereñes is a village in the municipality of Ribadesella, on the eastern coast of Asturias, within the parish of Leces. It has around 300 inhabitants and is reached by the road that climbs from the far end of Santa Marina beach.
Next to the village lies Tereñes beach, a cove about 750 metres long made up of dark boulders and rocks, with no services and not recommended for swimming. Its cliffs, of Upper Jurassic rock, belong to the stretch of coast known as the Jurassic Coast and preserve footprints of two-legged and four-legged dinosaurs, including some of the best examples of three-toed tracks, visible at low tide. The site is part of the Protected Landscape of the Eastern Coast of Asturias and of the Ichnite Sites Natural Monument.
