The Teatro Casino de Trubia is a cultural venue in the town of Trubia that is part of the Oviedo City Council’s cultural offering, with the Fundación Municipal de Cultura as its contact body. The wood-and-stone building dates from 1918 and was built on the initiative of the Trubia arms factory for the Círculo de Obreros; the plans were signed by Colonel Director Luis Hernando in April of that year.
Over time it fell into partial ruin and, after a rehabilitation directed by architect José Rivas Rico, it reopened as a social centre on 10 June 1998, coinciding with the Trubia festivities. Today it has a 200-seat hall with a projection booth, along with workshops, a kitchen, a library and a reading room.
