About this venue
The Eurostars Hotel de La Reconquista occupies the former Hospicio of Oviedo, a building whose construction began in 1752 by order of Isidoro Gil de Jaz. The complex was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural (Asset of Cultural Interest) in 1973 and now operates as a hotel.
Its chapel was designed in 1768 by Ventura Rodríguez, an architect from Madrid. The building is also one of the main venues during Princess of Asturias Awards week, receiving and hosting the laureates and the royal family.
