About this venue

The Auditorio Príncipe Felipe is an auditorium and congress centre in Oviedo, owned by the city council, which opened on 29 April 1999. It was designed by the architect Rafael Beca and built over the city’s former water tanks. Its exterior has a neoclassical air, with an architectural concrete facade and wide windows.

Its main hall and the multipurpose hall can run separately or together, with a combined capacity of 2,388 seats. It also has a chamber hall, whose stage is backed by a stone wall preserved from the old tank. It is also the setting for the annual Princess of Asturias Awards concert.
