The Casa de Cultura de Coaña is the municipality’s municipal cultural centre and is located in Ortiguera, a fishing village in the parish of Mohías, about 6.5 km from the municipal capital. There is a park beside the building, and the start panel of the Ruta Marinera PR AS-296, the trail that runs through the village, stands in its surroundings. It has hosted activities of the Escuela de Música de Coaña, such as a piano masterclass.
In the same village, in former rural schools in the Rabeirón neighbourhood, stands the Biblioteca Municipal Gonzalo Anes: the municipality has had a municipal library since 1996, it belongs to the Red de Bibliotecas de Asturias, its collection is spread over children’s, young adult and adult rooms, and it received the María Moliner Prize in 2006 and 2024. Ortiguera also has the CDTL, a public-access computer centre.
