About this venue
The Ría de Navia is the final stretch of the Navia river, which turns into an estuary in its lower reaches and flows into the Cantabrian Sea between Penafurada and Cabo de San Agustín. Its channel marks the boundary between the municipalities of Coaña and Navia.
For a long time much of the municipality’s economy revolved around it, and today it hosts the Descenso a Nado de la Ría del Navia, a swimming crossing held in August.
