The Casino de Navia is the building of the Sociedad Casino de Navia, constituted in June 1855, which in its early years occupied premises on the ground floor of the former Pilgrims’ Hospital. The current home was designed in 1919 and opened its doors in 1922; during the Civil War it housed the University of Oviedo.
It was designed by Benigno Pantaleón Rodríguez González, a master builder born in Navia, and has a rectangular plan of cubic volumes with historicist ornamentation. At the back it looks over the estuary with a projecting body that serves as a terrace. Today it keeps a social use.
