About this venue

The Museo de la Sidra de Asturias, in Nava, opened its doors in 1996 and defines itself as the home of Asturian cider culture. Its mission is to protect and promote cider heritage, both tangible and intangible, and it belongs to the network of ethnographic museums of Asturias.

The tour explains the whole process, from growing the apples to bottling the cider, including pressing and fermentation. It features a typical llagar (cider mill) and an interactive machine that follows a single apple through the entire production. Besides guided visits, it has a shop selling Asturian products and the Pasaporte sidrero, which lets visitors log their visits to cider mills, cider houses and the museum itself.
