Inicio Ruta Cascada de Xurbeo

This point, by the Murias car park, is the start of the trail to the Xurbeo waterfall (PR-AS 295), an out-and-back path of about 2.6 km in the municipality of Aller, rated very easy and suitable for all ages. The path runs through riverside woodland of chestnut, oak and alder trees to the falls, which lie barely a kilometre from the village and drop white over dark rock, with small side cascades. At Easter and during the summer months, Aller town council stages the theatrical show Xurbeo Mitológico here, featuring creatures from Asturian mythology.

Murias is a village and parish of Aller, at about 600 metres above sea level, with a farming, livestock and mining tradition. Since 1999 it has hosted the municipality’s Mercáu Tradicional, held on the last Sunday of July.
