About this venue
The Gonzalo Anes Municipal Public Library is the library of the municipality of Coaña, run by the town council, and is based in the Rabeirón neighbourhood of Ortiguera. It is named after Gonzalo Anes, a historian born in 1931 in Trelles, in this same municipality, who went on to direct the Real Academia de la Historia.
Its work in promoting reading has been recognised at national level: it received the María Moliner Prize from the Ministry of Culture and, in 2007, the reading-promotion award of the Federación de Gremios de Editores de España, a nationwide contest that honours the work libraries do in forming readers.
