The Casa de la Cultura Federico García Lorca is a municipal facility of the Ayuntamiento de Langreo in Riaño, a parish of the municipality and one of its six urban districts. Its current premises were inaugurated in 1995 and house the Biblioteca Pública Municipal Federico García Lorca, with a collection of around 13,000 volumes spread across reference, Asturian, adult and children’s sections, to which 1,966 volumes donated by the family of Heliodoro Temprano were added in 2010.
The building has two floors. On the ground floor, around a central multipurpose space, there are computer, press and activity rooms, a space for the reading club and an assembly hall; the first floor holds the library, with adult, children’s and baby sections, and a study room. Its adult reading club has been running for more than two decades.
