Pista del parque María Cristina

The Parque de María Cristina is the central park of La Caridad (A Caridá), capital of the municipality of El Franco since 1852. The village grew up around this park and the N-634 road: the old town hall stood inside the park itself, and the current town hall stands next to it, on the Plaza de España.

The park, with its round plaza, serves as an open-air setting for the village’s celebrations. It hosts Artenatur, El Franco’s Certamen de la Huerta, with a charity children’s market, music and craft demonstrations; the Carnival parade ends here, and the summer Carnival organised by the town council is also held here.
