The Casa Municipal de Cultura “Alcalde Silvino Sariego Muñiz” is the cultural facility of the Ayuntamiento de Riosa, in the village of La Ará. It occupies the former school building and shares premises with the municipal library, which focuses on lending and in-room reading of books and magazines and also runs reading-promotion activities and workshops for different groups. The municipality’s telecentre operates on the ground floor of the building.
The casa de cultura hosts short courses in leatherwork, handicrafts and patchwork, and through it the town council also organises concerts and talks in collaboration with other bodies, such as the Principality of Asturias. It is named after a former mayor of Riosa.
