About this venue
The Museo de la Ciudadela de Celestino Solar, also known as Ciudadela de Capua, occupies a former group of workers’ dwellings in central Gijón and shows one of the worker housing models that existed in Asturias. It is reached through a passageway from Capua street.
The ciudadela was built in 1877 by Celestino González Solar. It opened as a museum in April 2003 and reopened to the public on 26 January 2018 after repair and improvement works. It is part of Gijón’s municipal museum network and admission is free.
