The Escuela Politécnica de Ingeniería de Gijón is the University of Oviedo school that teaches computer science, telecommunications, industrial and data engineering at the Gijón Campus, with bachelor’s and master’s programmes.
It was formed in 2010 by merging three schools with different histories: the Industrial Technical Engineering school, with roots in 1888, the Computing and Telematics school, created in 1982, and the Superior Polytechnic school, founded in 1975. It is part of the Milla del Conocimiento Margarita Salas and collaborates with the Gijón Science and Technology Park. In 2018 it received the Silver Medal of the Villa de Gijón.
